What do you get when you are staying at Hotel Savoy during the autumn? Intense autumnal colours, clear blue skies and absolute comfort! We were fortunate enough to stay at this lovely hotel for 3 nights during out recent trip to the Czech Republic. It was our favourite stay in Europe so far! Bold statement I know but read on to see why this place has quickly become a favourite and somewhere we would love to visit again.
Staying At Hotel Savoy – The Hotel.
Hotel Savoy, taken over and reopened in 2012 is situated in the picturesque town of Spindelruv Mlyn. It’s surrounded by the most beautiful mountain scenery which you can get a glimpse of at ever turn you take. The Elbe river runs right by the entrance to the hotel and makes for the perfect location to go for a morning stroll. There’s not many more places that have suited me this well to wander around after my morning coffee! Both the exterior and interior of the hotel represent its luxurious nature and the staff that welcome you upon arrival play a big role in ensuring you have a great stay. I can vouch for this, the team at Hotel Savoy were super attentive and made our stay absolutely perfect!
Staying At Hotel Savoy – The Rooms.
The hotel has 38 rooms and we were lucky enough to be given one with a balcony facing out towards the centre of Spindelruv Mlyn. It was pure bliss to walk outside each morning, take in some fresh mountain air and just admire the intense autumnal views with a hot cup of coffee. Great coffee in the room always makes for a good start to the day with us, can’t beat it! Our room was the perfect combination of spacious luxury and had everything we needed. It was a real pleasure to come back each evening. I particularly enjoyed the little work desk as I was very eager to get some edits done after each day shooting the brilliant surrounding areas!
Staying At Hotel Savoy – Savoya Restaurant.
Lets get to the food talk! Nothing but positive words to describe Savoya restaurant. The food, the atmosphere and the service were all brilliant and they combined together to give us an amazing night! Both the food and design of the restaurant are inspired by nature. This is translated largely through its ingredients which are all freshly sourced from local farmers. We loved that! The food at Savoya restaurant is briefly described as modern Czech cuisine. The Czech Republic is my most visited country now and I’ve come to love their food. Savoya restaurant definitely hits the nail on the head with what they offer. Michal Husek the experienced chef that has worked in many of Prague’s top restaurants put together the menu. I like how he still supervises daily to ensure that only the best is served!
Staying At Hotel Savoy – The Hennessy Bar.
After a nice meal and with some colder temperatures setting in each evening we were in need of a nice cosy, place to have a few drinks. Cue our discovery of the Hennessy Bar. The Hennessy Bar came to Hotel Savoy after requests of a place for guests and passers-by to indulge in some tasty drinks. They over delivered when they finally revealed the Hennessy Bar and the three accurate words they use to describe it? Secluded, well-appointed and luxurious. Could not agree more. The bar seats 35 but we had it almost to ourselves each time we were in there. It was the perfect place to unwind after a long day in the mountains and it makes for a great addition to the hotel.
All in all we couldn’t have had a better stay during our time in Spindelruv Mlyn. Hotel Savoy is a member of the Asten Hotel group and each of their facilities from my experience are exceptional. You can read about my stay at Hotel Klarov which is located in Prague. October is a fantastic time to visit Spindelruv Mlyn because the autumnal colours are there in full force which makes everything very picturesque. Combine this with a luxurious stay at Hotel Savoy and you have yourself a fantastic trip!
(Thankyou to Hotel Savoy for hosting us during our stay. All opinions expressed are my own!)
